Johannesburg, Tuesday, January 18, 2022 – On the 19th of November 2021, the Independent Regulatory Board for Auditors (IRBA) published the draft proposed disciplinary rules in the Government Gazette for a public comment process over a period of 60 days, closing at 16:00 on the 18th of January 2022. Subsequent to the publication, the IRBA received requests from interested stakeholders to provide an extension of the comment period. Having considered the possible effect of the festive break on the ability of stakeholders to properly engage with the draft proposed disciplinary rules, the IRBA hereby provides an extension of the comment period by a further 10 days.
